CVEC Presents Clocks to New Lincoln Elementary

TALLADEGA, Ala. - Frank Kujawski, general manager for Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative, presented 56 clocks to Lincoln Elementary Principal Dorothy Wright Monday, September 17.

"We had approached Mrs. Wright about another project we wanted to do with her school when she indicated that she had some other needs, and clocks turned out to be one of them," Kujawski said. "We are proud to be able to offer these nice-looking clocks to the students of Lincoln."

The clocks are black and white, measure a full 14 inches and display all 12 numbers in large type for easy viewing. They feature the Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative name and Touchstone Energy logo. To help them fit in with the race-theme of the new Lincoln Elementary School, a set of crossed checkered flags and the saying: "Placing Education in the Winners Circle."

The clocks are battery powered to enable operation during electrical outages. Battery power also allows the clocks to be removed for instructional purposes when students are learning to tell time.

Coosa Valley Electric, which serves more than 15,000 customers in Talladega, St. Clair, Shelby, Clay, Etowah and Calhoun counties, is a Touchstone Energy7 cooperative. Nationwide, some 1,000 cooperatives provide power to rural America, and 570 of those operate under the Touchstone Energy umbrella.
