About Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative

Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc., (CVEC), is located about 45 minutes east of Birmingham, Alabama, and just over one hour west of Atlanta, Georgia, on Interstate 20. With easy access to several major transportation corridors, this has become an excellent area for businesses and industries to locate.

CVEC is a not-for-profit, member-owned and democratically run rural electric distribution utility. Each year, member-owners have the right to vote for representatives to serve on the board of trustees, and these trustees set policies to govern the operations of the cooperative. It is the mission of the Cooperative to provide reliable, quality electrical service to the membership at the most affordable price.

There are many services we provide beyond just electricity. We have a propane gas subsidiary – Coosa Valley Propane – with excellent service and competitive prices. We also launched a broadband internet subsidiary, Coosa Valley Technologies, in 2021 — providing fiber-to-the-home internet service to many areas in our service territory unreached by true broadband service.

 

Our trained professionals can install an economical dusk-to-dawn light to brighten your home at night or you can sign up for our Surge Program to protect your valuable appliances and electronics.

CVEC is a proud member of the Touchstone Energy® group of cooperatives. Throughout the United States, there are more than 1,000 electric cooperatives, and nearly 750 of those operate under the Touchstone Energy umbrella.
