Approximately 1,290 homes will experience a temporary power outage for up to three hours beginning at midnight April 15. Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative and PowerSouth crews will be performing critical maintenance on the Childersburg Substation.
The planned outage is necessary to replace a key component on a major substation transformer. This work will require the substation to be taken offline during the maintenance period.
“This important maintenance is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring reliable service for our members,” said Spencer Whisenant, manager of engineering at CVEC. “By proactively replacing critical components, we keep power flowing safely and reliably to the communities we serve.”
Homes impacted by the temporary outage include those located along Childersburg Fayetteville Highway, Russell Chapel Road, Heasletts Road, McGowans Ferry Road, Kahatchee Loop, Camp Browning Road, Cosper Bend, Cedar Creek Road, Preserve Subdivision, Lakeview Road, Lay Lake Lane, Upper Gate Lane, Lower Gate Lane, and Riverwalk Parkway.
CVEC apologizes for any inconvenience this temporary outage may cause and appreciates members’ patience and understanding as this essential work is completed.
