Did You Notice a Credit on Your September Bill?

In September, Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative issued credits to its members. These credits came from a portion of the state utility taxes you paid on bills back in 2024.

Every year, CVEC is eligible to receive a refund on its state utility tax if it chooses to return the money directly to you, our members.

“This is just another way we work to put money back in the pockets of our members,” said Jon Cullimore, CVEC General Manager.

The amount of your credit was based on the power bills you paid during 2024. If you had multiple accounts, the credits were applied to your primary account. Members who did not have service with CVEC in 2024 did not receive credit since they did not pay those taxes.

SmartPay members received an email showing the amount of “credit” applied to their account.

Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative. That means when money comes back to us, it goes back to you, our members. This tax credit is just one more way being part of a cooperative benefits you.
