How Outages are Identified and Restored

  1. Outage Notification: Dispatcher or on-call crew chief receives notification of outage from cooperative’s outage management system (OMS), Supervisory Control and Data Analysis (SCADA) system or member report to outage hotline (800-273-7210).
  2. Outage Verification: Dispatcher/crew chief sends signals to affected meter. If no answer is returned ...
  3. Outage Response: Dispatcher/crew chief sends on-call team of a lineman and an apprentice to affected area. Personnel will diagnose issue through visual inspection, testing of equipment and/or computer system diagnostics.
  4. Outage Restoration: Line crew makes necessary repairs. They then coordinate with engineering to re-energize the affected part of the system. Personnel then clear the outages from the OMS.
