Powering Convenience

CVEC Offers Different Options To Pay the Bill

In today’s fast-paced world, even something as routine as paying an electric bill is evolving. Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative gives members flexibility and control when it comes to paying the power bill.

For more than 14,500 members, CVEC’s billing options reflect an approach with a simple goal: make paying for power as convenient as using it.

“Long gone are the days when paying a utility bill meant writing a check and mailing it in or dropping it off at the office,” said Kaye O’Connor, CVEC’s billing supervisor. “We offer a wide range of payment options designed to fit different lifestyles.”

Members can still pay by mail, in person at the CVEC office on Highway 77 in Talladega during regular business hours, or the night depository for after-hours convenience. However, payment options have expanded beyond traditional methods.

Payments can be made online or by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To pay online, visit the online payment portal at billing. coosavalleyec.com or click the “Pay Bill” button located at the top of our website. To pay over the phone, call (256) 362-4180 and choose option 1 after the initial greeting has completed.

For members always on the go, the CVEC Connect mobile app offers a streamlined way to manage accounts, view usage, pay the bill, and even report outages. It is available for IOS and Android devices in the respective app stores. Download the app and get signed in to get access to powerful tools available at your fingertips.

Members who prefer a physical payment option without stepping inside the lobby can use a self-service kiosk located in the foyer at the Talladega office, which is available around the clock.

CVEC also partners with MoneyGram, allowing members to pay their electric bill at locations nationwide, which is a helpful option for frequent travelers or those who prefer in-person transactions away from the office. Visit the MoneyGram website to find a convenient location to pay your bill. Remember to include the CVEC code: 13933.

The automatic bank draft option will automatically debit a member’s checking account at the same time each month. A statement will be sent before the account is debited. This option works best when combined with levelized billing, which works well for consumers on fixed incomes. Members using levelized billing will pay a slightly different amount each month, but the program helps to level those months of high usage. To sign up for levelized billing, call 256-362-4180 and choose option 1.

The most convenient payment option is credit card billing, which can be done by calling CVEC. Members will receive a statement prior to their credit card being billed.

Offering different payment options is 1 way Coosa Valley Electric is adapting to members’ needs while maintaining the reliability they expect,” O’Connor said. “The result is a billing experience designed for efficiency, convenience, accessibility, and financial peace of mind.” For more information on payment options, go to the Billing page.
