Dusk to Dawn Lighting

The Cooperative rents Dusk-to-Dawn lighting fixtures (Security Lights) to qualifying members.

If the consumer terminates the agreement before the 48 months has ended, they must pay $75. Consumers must pay for lights that are damaged or destroyed as a result of vandalism.

The monthly rental charges are as follows:

New and Existing Installations by CVEC

Residential Dusk-to-Dawn Light – $10.50
Commercial Dusk-to-Dawn Light – $21

Note: These rentals are based on 4-year (48-month) agreements. Light installations requiring additional facilities like extra wiring or poles are subject to additional charges.

Property Damage Disclaimer

The Cooperative disclaims responsibility for damages incurred to driveways, septic-systems, lawns, trees, or other obstructions while installing, at Consumer’s request, security lights, poles, or additional underground or aerial electric service. It is the responsibility of the consumer to, shortly after making application for service, locate any underground water, sewage, gas, or telephone services lines, septic-systems, and/or any other underground hindrances on the consumer’s property.

In addition, the Cooperative shall have the right of ingress to and egress from the premises at reasonable times and as required, shall have the right to cut and trim trees and shrubbery to the extent necessary to keep them clear of the electric lines.

The Cooperative shall use all reasonable care and diligence in clearing, re-clearing, and maintenance of right-of-way and electric distribution lines.

Consent(Required)

The undersigned, hereinafter called the “Consumer”, hereby makes application to the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth, for a dusk to dawn light fixture from Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc., hereinafter called the “Cooperative”, and the Consumer and the Cooperative agree as follows:

The Consumer desires to rent dusk to dawn lighting fixture(s) to be installed at the consumer’s premises.

The Cooperative shall furnish, install, and maintain the dusk to dawn fixture(s). The Cooperative agrees to make all replacements of lamps and parts from time to time as may become necessary, except repairs resulting from vandalism which are to be made at the expense of the Consumer. The Cooperative shall furnish the electric energy required for the operation of the lighting equipment from dusk to dawn. The Cooperative will furnish all maintenance required during regular working hours of the Cooperative.

The cooperative will install a light fixture at no charge to the consumer where existing facilities such as a transformer or secondary wire are present. Any additional facilities required to install a light such as adding poles, wire or transformers will be determined by engineering and charged as additional aid-to-construction. The Cooperative does not provide any right of way clearing for any secondary light extension.

It is agreed that the terms of this agreement shall be for the period of 48 months and shall continue thereafter until 30 days written notice by either party shall be given for discontinuance of such service. The rental charge herein agreed upon as follows:

Residential LED Light: $10.50 per month

Commercial LED Flood/Spotlight: $21 per month

A charge of $75 for the removal of the light for service less than the specified 48 months agreement will also apply. Any relocation of existing light fixtures will be at the expense of the consumer. Costs will be determined by the engineering department.
